As we mourn the loss of another of the 2nd Battalion Para's. Let our thoughts go to the families of these young men.
Let us also remember all the young Men and Women that have lost their lives in combat since the end of the second world war.
Also all those that are still serving all over the world
As any ex Soldier i know how it feels to lose a mate and as a parent i know the devastation of losing a Son.
So I would like to ask all of you who visit this site to spare a moment to remember these brave young people.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.
Soldiers of glory Oh praise our soldiers of glory, praise their valour and their mightPraise their life they put on the line for us every day and every nightFresh faced they go into battle as they leave their loved ones behindThey see neither fear nor danger as they go toward the frontlineIf there were to be memorials stacked up to heavens highIt would not do them justice for them sacrificing their livesWhere would we be without them I really just don’t know? Our lives would be so different now and all our dreams put on holdLike a mother that comforts her children keeping them safe and warmYou gave us our independence and kept us free from harmSo we all want to say a big thank you, there’s a debt that we’ll never repayGod bless you our soldiers of glory and god protect you now and always.
For ALL service people
Remembering all the servicemen and women and their families too...I was a young army wife in the early 70's I remember a young soldier dying in Northern Ireland where my husband was. I often think of him and his family....His name was Mick Doyle aged 19. My thoughts are with his family xxxxxxxx

I know too well.
I am married to a serving soldier and i know only too well what nightmares lay ahead. Even after 23 years together,it is still the worst nightmare to be told that your husband is off to war. You can only sit and pray that they come home safe. Unfortunatly, not all do. When you hear that another soldier has lost their lives, whether you know them or not, you feel the pain. We have just lost a very close friend last Saturday in Afgan. He died doing the job he loved. But that doesn't make it any easier. My heart goes out to every person who has lost a loved one or friend in battle. I lost my son through an awful illness and that was bad enough. I dread the day when my husband has to go back out to war but i know that is what he has been trained to do, and a job he loves so much. I only hope he comes back when that day comes.
May all soldiers rest in peace, watch over their loved ones and bring all deployed soldiers back home safe. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
